The next day, Ayaan reached college a little earlier than usual. He didn’t know why, but he hoped to see Sara again. As he walked through the corridor, students were chatting and laughing everywhere.
“Why are you walking so fast today?” Rohit asked with a teasing smile. “Are you searching for someone?”
Ayaan tried to act normal. “No, I just came early.”
Just then, they entered the classroom. Ayaan looked around and suddenly saw Sara sitting near the window with her friend Nisha. The sunlight coming through the window made her smile look even brighter.
Sara noticed him and waved. “Hi, Ayaan!”
Ayaan felt a little shy but waved back. “Hi.”
After the class started, the professor gave a small group assignment. By coincidence, Ayaan and Sara were placed in the same group along with Rohit and Nisha.
“This will be fun,” Rohit said excitedly.
During the discussion, Sara spoke confidently and shared many ideas. Ayaan was surprised by how smart and friendly she was.
“You’re very quiet,” Sara said with a smile. “But I think you have good ideas.”
Ayaan finally spoke up and shared his thoughts. Everyone liked his idea.
“See!” Sara laughed. “I knew you would have something good to say.”
After class, the group decided to meet in the library to work on the assignment.
As they walked together, Ayaan realized something. Talking to Sara felt easy and comfortable. For the first time since joining college, he felt like he truly belonged there.
What started as a simple meeting was slowly turning into a beautiful friendship.
And somewhere deep inside Ayaan’s heart, a small feeling was beginning to grow… a feeling he didn’t fully understand yet.
